Workshop: Using PMI® Terminology

Introduction:
This workshop is designed to equip people new to procurement and purchasing with the tools and techniques to ensure effective expenditure of company and organization budgets.
The workshop starts out with defining the key objectives of purchasing and the opportunities it creates for adding real value. It works through the procurement cycle taking in the types of specification, promoting and managing competition, interpreting supplier tenders and selecting the right contract terms. The basics of negotiation are reviewed together with real-life case studies.
Objectives:
To provide participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively and efficiently manage company and project procurement functions and participants will acquire the knowledge & skills to effectively manage the procurement function.
Who Should Attend?
This course targets participants who are directly involved in procurement management and oversight, as well as those engaged in the procurement policy formulation and procurement management. Previous knowledge or work experience in procurement management in the public or private sector is an asset.
At the meantime, university students and candidates interested to procurement management and to learn about procurement management can participate.
