Adelaide Strikers sign Rashid Khan for Big Bash League
Afghanistan sensation Rashid Khan has joined Adelaide Strikers for the seventh edition of Big Bash League (BBL), the T20 league of Australia. The club itself announced on Thursday about the signing of the leggie. Rashid Khan becomes the first Afghanistan player to be signed by a franchise in Big Bash League.
Rashid Khan lit up the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) by picking the first ever hat-trick in the history of the tournament. He was also impressive in his first stint in Indian Premier League (IPL) this year for Sunrisers Hyderabad. He picked up 17 wickets and played all the games of the season and at one stage was the purple cap holder, the award for highest wicket taker in the tournament.

The 18-year-old bowler was extremely happy after joining Adelaide Strikers and was excited to share the dressing room with his new teammates. “I am very happy to have signed with the Strikers for the BBL. It is a huge honour to be a part of such a great tournament and even more of an honour to be the first Afghanistan player to participate on the BBL stage. I look forward to linking up with my Strikers teammates and backroom staff,” Afghan leggie said.
